First and foremost, it is important that you know that your Personal Health Information is not shared, sold, or disclosed to outside organizations or individuals, subject to the terms of our Privacy Policy. For Healthcare Providers this rule pertains to all personal details provided.
Additionally, we have made every effort to assure the security of your Personal Health Information and to protect it from unauthorized access. It is for this reason that we have implemented HIPAA guidelines.
In order to comply with HIPAA we have created specific policies and procedures which have been reviewed with HIPAA experts for completeness and applicability. These policies range from login and password procedures to disaster recovery plans. We have made every effort to assure your data is safe and secure under our supervision, and review our practices on a regular basis to assure this in the future.
The following is a list of many (but not all) the steps we have taken:
- Dedicated Servers. The computer servers on which our service runs are dedicated machines, located in a lock cage in a secure computer facility in the US.
- Daily Back-ups. Back-ups are made daily and securely stored at a facility remote from where our servers are hosted.
- Intruder Detection. We monitor user traffic constantly and have implemented an Intruder Detection System to assure that un-welcomed visitors are not permitted access to our systems, or your Personal Health Information.
- Auto-Logout. We have implemented an auto-logout feature that will end your session if inactive for 15 minutes, and blank your computer screen. (A warning message will appear after 10 minutes of inactivity.) This is done to reduce the chances of your information being accidentally viewed by co-workers or others should you step away from your computer and forget to turn it off.
- VeriSign certified. Our service runs on a 128-bit encryption SSL site certified by VeriSign, the most trusted name in Internet security.
- Password Protection. We have adopted a strict, but user friendly, password protection policy designed to prevent unauthorized access to your Personal Health Information.
We stand by our commitment to protect your Personal Health Information and will adapt our service as required to assure this in the future.
